Mont Blanc Chalet

Scope of the project: The client wanted to build a hempcrete house in French Alps among traditional looking chalets.

Challenges: Immediately problems came from local building department, which was not happy about construction of a new house with new, unpredictable materials. It was quite difficult to convince them the house will look like a traditional chalet and would harmonically blend in into the local landscape.

Benefits: Sourcing local french hemp, lime and receiving help from your professionals that were eager to learn about the hempcrete technology significantly lowered the cost of the project.

Outcome: Beautiful post-and-beam system combines fantastically well with hempcrete to protect house owners from constantly changing temperature and humidity.
